WILD YOUR SLEEP

Every cell in our body beats to our circadian rhythm, learn how to harness this powerful energy.

WHY

Sleep is a powerful part of the body's rhythmic functioning. Helping our body to feel the natural rhythm of the day helps us to build sleep tension and to sleep well. For our biology to work we need the correct materials at the right concentration to the right tissues at the right time of day. Deep in our brains is the Suprachiasmatic nuclei, which operates like the metronome to which all cells function under neural and hormonal rhythm. Our internal clock is set by the external world. Our eyes pick up the type of light and the angle of the sun's rays. Exposure to bright light for a long duration sets the cycle. Photosensitive retinal cells pick up this light, they are highly sensitive to blue light. The time of day has a huge effect on our hormones and nervous system. Give yourself the best chance for wild natural sleep.

HOW

Simple ways towards better sleep

  • Spend time outside in early daylight.

  • Try to wake, eat and exercise at similar times each day, to help your body find it's natural rhythm.

  • Wind down before you sleep, don't watch TV or work on computers or look at your phone.

  • Don't track your sleep or hold too much anxiety about it, if possible.

  • You have often slept more than you think you have!
