WILD YOUR FOOD

What we eat has a profound effect on the health of our bodies and our planet.

WHY

Your food is not only the building blocks of your cells but it also forms signalling chemicals which control all of your body's processes including your hormonal and immunological systems. The food you consume impacts not only your gut health but also your cardiovascular and respiratory well-being, your neurological functions, as well as the strength of your muscles, bones, and skin. Food wields the potential to serve as a potent medicine or harmful toxin. Your gut bacteria feeds on the cellulose structures in foods. The woody matrix that plants produce the nutrients on which the bacteria thrive and multiply. Thus the complex structures of plants form the 'compost' for the bacterial growth in your gut, encouraging a thriving, diverse, internal jungle. A healthy microbiome is essential for a healthy body.

HOW

Simple ways to better nutrition

  • Try to eat seasonally and locally produced food.

  • Eat foods, mainly plants which are still in their original complex structure.

  • Include whole grains, they are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
e.g. whole wheat, quinoa and brown rice

  • Pay attention to your eating habits by practicing mindful eating. Be present and fully engaged in your meals, this helps to cultivate a healthier relationship with your food.
